Abstract paintings hold a feeling

Abstract works don't ask you to identify anything. They ask you to feel — colour, rhythm, weight. They're perfect for bedrooms, home offices, meditation corners and hallways, where you want atmosphere rather than narrative.

Mix, don't match

The best-collected homes I've visited pair one bold figurative piece in the main room with quieter abstract works in the private spaces. The contrast makes both stronger.

Trust your first ten seconds

If a painting still holds your attention after ten seconds of looking, it will hold your attention for ten years on your wall. Don't over-think it.
