The Story Behind 'Life Is Now AI'

Some paintings arrive over months. This one arrived in a single afternoon and then took eight weeks to finish.

The trigger

I'd been reading about AI every morning for a year. Every headline was about what comes next. I realised I hadn't looked up from the screen and seen what was already here. I put the phone down and painted the first stroke that evening.

The making

The base is heavy acrylic in warm ochres and off-white — the colour of an Indian afternoon. Over that, layers of ink and charcoal for the figure, and small hits of gold leaf for the moments where the light catches. Mixed media, on 30×40 gallery-wrapped canvas, 2 cm deep painted edges.

What it means

'Life Is Now AI' isn't a painting about artificial intelligence. It's a painting about the word 'now'. The AI is just the noise we're all listening to. The subject is the person still deciding to be present inside that noise.
